Induction
The day came 11/04/11. I was in the hospital ready to be induced.
Sophie was not ready to see they world. She made an appearance 55 hours later, on the 13/04/11.
I was given a pill to induce labour and monitored every 12 hours. 36 hours later I was still 1 cm dilated. Imagine my frustration, not to mention the pain and cramp I had to go through.
I remember during my anti natal class when I was taught about all sorts of pain relieve with their advantages and disadvantages, I said to myself that I will only try Gas and Air and Epidural.
Labour was so painful that I ended up taking ALL pain relieve available to me. From Paracetamol to TENS machine to Gas & Air to Pethidine to Epidural, you name it , I took it.
On the 55th hour, Sophie's heart rate dropped and the emergency button was raise. 6 medical personnel charged into the delivery room. I was 1 cm shy but I was asked to push. Dr then decided that vontous was the last resort to deliver Sophie safely. I was cut 1cm and Sophie was delivered after 3 pushes.
She was taken to ICU immediately to be monitored. Thank God she was well and was returned to me the following day.
